#Dorisa Shahmirzai Hanrahan, Esq, handles litigation and transactional IP matters relating to businesses, entertainment, art industry, and video game, digital content, and technology sector.

As a general counsel for a multi-brand international cosmetic distribution company, Mazal Group Inc., she managed day-to-day legal matters, handling, enforcing and prosecuting over 100 IP assets spanning 25 counties. She is recognized expert in new media law, intellectual property exploitation, social media law, copyrights and trademark protection and related legal and business affairs. Using her expertise in intellectual property law, and contract negotiation she advises clients in deal making, development, and marketing, on web, mobile and social platforms.

After law school, Dorisa worked at Clifford Chance S.L. in Barcelona, Spain in areas of technology, entertainment and IP law where she handled patent, copyright and trademark disputes, film financing deals and prepared publishing agreements for talent and television shows. She negotiated a publishing deal for Vamos a Cocinar, a Spanish cooking show with Jose Andres. She has negotiated and drafted, on behalf of both artist and company clients, a broad range of music, film, and television deals, including recording, distribution, licensing, publishing and joint venture agreements. She also handled a publishing dispute on behalf of Steve Kilbey of Church. She is serving as a panel attorney for California Lawyers for the Arts where she regularly conducts client friendly workshops on fundamental of copyrights and on issues of defamation, rights of privacy and negotiating key deal terms in motion picture and television. She has represented academy award winning filmmakers with major studios. She is representing a major television creator on a stage production. She is currently an adjunct faculty at UCLA teaching negotiating talent agreements for motion picture.

She has also handled litigation matters from inception to trial. She handled a multi-million dollar law suit involving Eli Lily. Dorisa externed with the San Francisco Superior Court, with Judge Warren, the grandson of Supreme Court, Justice Earl Warren as a post graduate law clerk.

Dorisa Shahmirzai Hanrahan completed undergraduate studies in Neurobiology at UC Berkeley, graduate work at Harvard University, and legal education at UC Davis School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in CA.

She has been selected as a rising star in Super Lawyer Magazine for 2015, 2016.
